Storybook Plan

The main idea I would like to explore is the story and theme of Rama and Sita. Some possible story sources would be: http://iereadingguides.blogspot.com/2017/08/project-idea-rama-and-sita.html http://ouocblog.blogspot.com/search/label/PDE%20Ramayana https://desimuslimstudent.blogspot.com/2021/02/reading-notes.html https://desimuslimstudent.blogspot.com/2021/02/reading-notes-rama-and-sita-part-c.html https://desimuslimstudent.blogspot.com/2021/02/reading-notes-ramayana-public-domain_10.html https://desimuslimstudent.blogspot.com/2021/02/reading-notes-ramayana-public-domain.html Three stories I could use would be: 1. How Rama and Sita Met     I would write a little background information on both and how they met. I think the theme of divine love                  was a big thing about Rama and Sit a 2. Rama and Sita Jouney or Challenge Together     I would focus on a challenge they faced together or a significant incident they faced together. There are so many to choose from I am not sure

The Bridge Rama tried giving sacrifices to The God of Ocean to get across to Lanka but did not get any results He angrily shot his bow into the deep ocean resulting in chaos, a thunderstorm occurred and the mountains began to break into pieces. He threatened to shoot another fiery bow and dry up the sea The ocean rose above with shining water snakes. He reminded Rama that he has to remain impassable. He asked Rama to consult with  vanar chief  Nala , son of  Vishwakarman , the divine artisan in order to cross the sea through a bridge. He then vanished Nala was called upon, his workmen assisted him and his body was green. He made what is called "Rama's Bridge." Hanuman Finds Sita Story: Week #4

Image
Authors Note: This is a story of how Hanuman found Sita and led to Rama to her. This story is not my own I am simply rewriting it in my own way. Jambavan was the leader of the bears who were allied with the monkeys. H e cleverly convinced Haruman to go to Lanka by praising him as quoted below. Rama was beginning to become impatient to find Sita and so it was imperative Hanuman used his powers to go find her. "His birth and origin, how the  wind-god  had begotten him and his mother  Anjana  had borne him in the mountains, and when he was still a child he had thought the sun to be a fruit growing in the sky, and sprang easily three thousand leagues toward it; how  Indra  had cast a bolt at him, breaking his jaw; how the wind-god in anger began to destroy the heavens and earth, till  Brahma  pacified him and granted him the boon that his son should be invulnerable, and Indra gave him the boon of choosing his own death." Hanuman was impressed and as he crossed the sea a rakhshasa

Feedback Strategies

Image
I feel that this was a really important article to read because I can be hesitant in giving feedback at times. This helped show me that praise is good but students need specific constructive criticism that will help them improve their blogs. Constructive criticism is key here. It also made me ponder on the images the blogger uses, if the post looks like a summary rather than actual effort etc. It made me think of the little things that could make a blog better. Lets take the writing style for example, one can look at the past, future, and present tenses used, if the language is bland, ho powerful the writing is etc. It is often little things that can make a post come off stronger or weaker and this includes things like grammar and proofreading as well. I think I will be a better feedback giver now.  Constructive Feedback  Image Source: https://www.personio.com/product/feedback/

Topic Research: Rama and Sita

Image
I have chosen my research topic to be Rama and Sita. I read their stories in my Reading A and B and I wanna know more. I feel like I only touched the tip of the iceberg.   1. How Rama and Sita Met     I would write a little background information on both and how they met. 2. Rama and Sita Jouney or Challenge Together     I would focus on a challenge they faced together or a significant incident they faced together 3. Where Rama and Sita ended up and how     This would relate to the happy or sad ending ever after and how their story molded and ended    Link Source: http://iereadingguides.blogspot.com/2017/08/project-idea-rama-and-sita.html http://ouocblog.blogspot.com/search/label/PDE%20Ramayana Rama and Sita Image Source: https://www.alamy.com/rama-and-sita-hindu-gods-image6625707.html

Week #3 Story: Rama and Sita

Image
Authors Note: I wrote this story based on Rama and Sita's part A and B reading. The link and bibliography is at the end. I had heard the names and wanted to know the backstory between these people. It is a really interesting read and I reccomend it! Rama and Sita Part A and B This is a story of two kings who lived in a city full of bright and happy people. The birds chirped, the flowers swayed, and the sun shone brightly over the city. There is a king named Dasharatha who is sad because he has no sons from his three queens. Dasharatha's decided to do a Ashwamedha, or horse sacrifice, in order to have sons. The queens were incredibly happy on this sacrifice and were full of hope. The kingdom eld a ritual ceremony for the sacrifice upon its return.  Kaushayla, the chief queen began by slaying the horse. The kingdoms was filled with celebration, chanting’s, and portions of the horse were thrown into the fire as the chanting occurred. The Gods promised Dasharatha four sons. These f
