Week 9 Story: Draupadi's Five Husbands

Image
Authors Note: This is a story of Draupadi who was Nalayani in her past life. In this life she marries the five Pandava brothers. This story provides an explanation for why Draupadi has five husbands as it is very uncommon for a woman to have more than one husband in the Ramayana. This is not my own story I am simply writing it with some twists and turns of my own. When Arjuna wins Draupadi as bride after successfully completeling the bow task. He takes her as huis bride. Upon returning home the Pandava brothers tell their mother Kunti of a gift they had received  She asks them to share the gift and then realizes it is a bride. After asking a rishi about the situation they are told she will be the wife of all five Pandava brothers and not just Arjuna. Drupada, Draupadi's father, is concerned about his daughter having five husbands. Upon seeing his concern the rishi explains Draupadi's karma and past life story.  The rishi tells him she was married to another rishi who after gett

The House of Fire Prince Vadhura knew what Duryodhana was plotting but his status was low due to his mother being a slave girl The Pandavas  and Queen Kunti loved the beautiful palace  But Prince Yudhishthira saw  the furniture and the tapestries were were all soaked in oil. And that the palace and roof were made of material that would easily burn like wood.  He said,  "I fear, my mother, that we are in grave danger and the King or Prince Duryodhana seeks to burn us alive. Else why should the furniture and tapestries be soaked in oil and the palace walls and roof be made only of wood?" Prince Vidhura decided on helping them and helped the Pandavas make an underground passage that went into the woods Purochana was ready to set the house on fire but Prince Bhima set the house on fire while sending the rest into the woods and Purochana was consumed in the fire A wind came that also caught the fire, a low caste woman with five kids came and the Pandavas gave them food but they al

Week 8 Progress

Progress So Far 1.   Looking back I am happy with my progress so far and I most proud of my Reading and following blog stories for the Rama and City parts.I enjoy the storybook the most as it is the assignment I am most invested in. I use the extra credit in weeks we do not do anything such as Week 5 and Week 10 as that is when I have the most time to do them. Things are going well in terms of developing my blog. I have found basing my storybook on previous readings SO helpful and I like them too! 2. Looking forward .   I want to make my feedback strategies better and be more careful now which assignments are due when but other than that I like my progress so far. I want to avoid the pitfall of procrastination as it is so easy to do that. I want to try to be more conversational in my storybook writing. I want to change my introduction in my blog and fix the storybook with any errors it has.   Motivation Image Image Source: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/320177854755708903/

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
Week 8 Comments and Feedback 1. Feedback in I would rate the feedback comments I am receiving from other students a 7. I find the comments that critique my story the most helpful although I do enjoy being complimented on my work as well. I feel that telling me specifically what I am doing wrong helps me fix it the most.   2. Feedback out .  I have been hesitant about being to critical and I think I could leave a bit more constructive criticism. I really liked that for my blogs so I think I will try to pinpoint out mistakes specifically. Yes, I have been getting writing ideas especially from other storybooks like my own! I have also read about similar topics to my own. I also really liked looking at the different pictures and project formats people used!   3. Blog comments .  I do actually, and I read a few introductions of people I knew on campus by name but not personally. The blogs helped me to get to know people better and I also met a few other premeds here as well. I have mixed fe

Week * Reading and Writing

Image
Hello, T he reading and writing assignments working fine for me but I did have a few mixups after I finished the Rama and Sita set to part D. I accidentally clicked on the wrong tiny tales and also posted a new story instead of finishing a revision. So I think my biggest issues were the mixups with the assignments and readings. I am happy with my blog and your project website. I just want to make sure my reading is engaging and not too professional/boring. I am satisfied with how the writing is going for my project and about your story posts. I actually really enjoy working on my storybook because I like the overall theme and stories. My biggest accomplishment(s) in writing for this class was being able to re-express my creative site. Having been a premed for so  Lon I forgot to imagine and be creative. I enjoyed sitting down and reading as well. My  favorite reading so far was the turtle one and Rama and Sita's story. As for m y reading notes, they have not been helping me each we

Week 7 Story: Rama Rejects Sita

Sita and Rama Reunite To Separate Sita is called by Rama who asked her to bathe and come to him after having been rescued by Ravana who had kidnapped her for several months. Sita is full of joy upon looking at Rama but his feelings had changed for her. He tells her he killed off the man who stained his honor but Sita was stained as she lived with another man and he has to renounce her. He offered her to marry his brother or one of his friends Sita, while angry and tearful asked Laskhshmana to build her a fire and she went through it to prove her purity. The Gods came from the heavens seeing the view and even they intervened at the sad scene. "Thou that dost protect the worlds; why dost thou renounce the daughter of Janaka, leaving her to choose the death by fire? How can it be thou knowest not what thyself art? Thou wast in the beginning, and shalt be at the end: thou art first of all the gods, thyself the grandsire and creator. Why dost thou treat Sita after the fashion of a mere
